Good Friday + Kansas City + 2003

Good Friday was finally here! We had a beautiful night of prayer the night before which climaxed when several of us went out to a hidden lake, hiked through the woods, sat out on a dock and spoke of beautiful things of God.

In the morning we split up into twos all across the city. His name was being spoken into thousands of peoples hearts all across the kansas city area because of the faithfullness of a few crossbearers. A huge blessing was that it only rained for about five minutes or so while it looked like a huge thunderstorm couldve busted out any second. We met back at church two regroup hear good stories and go back out again. We recieved much encouragement all throughout the day.

The ROOT TOOT of the diesel truck horn kept me going all day long. Every time it happened I'd get a huge jolt of excitement all through my being! Seems like many of the truckers are down with Jesus!

We met back at church again in the afternoon to pray and take the Lords Supper together under the now bright blue skies. Beautiful moment!

A couple of us decided to head to to the Royals game with crosses. The flood of people into the stadium that day was incredible. People were still driving in to the stadium in the fifth inning!First time in years the Royals have been sold out on a regular season day. This opened up opportunity upon opportunity to share His much needed love. We didnt have enough people to talk to the amount that wanted to talk with us.

We headed back to church to have worship and prayer time. Our flesh was defenitely not willing at this time. People were not showing up, exhaustion had set in, we were ready to call off the evening.

Then things started to change, many started to arrive and thus began an incredible encouter with His Spirit. Hours went by as we praised, prayed, wept and confessed. It was one of the most intimate times I have spent with Him in some time. He continuosly blows me away by how strong He is when I am weak.

Easter Sunday night came and ended up being an incredible close to the weekend. I got to witness two brothers who had been arrested confess Jesus as their Lord and Savior! What an incredible day to be reborn! Our God is so good!!!!!!!

Thank you to all who forsake sleep and joined us in Kansas City and to all who carried crosses on this day across the nation. But thanks most of all to our incredible Father in heaven who made all of this real by sacrificing His life for us, without Him the cross would mean nothing!

Good Friday + Lawrence, KS + 2003

Yesterday was Good Firday and a group of us hit the streets to proclaim to a city in need the events that assured our salvatiion 2,000 years ago. The day started with a call from a brother who has been dedicated to this calling and shared with me his passion to see the LORD gloryfied. So at 10 in the morning I was loading a cross into the back of my car and heading to a the University of Kansas.

Once there I went to the Kansas Relays that were being held there. And immediatley my graciuos Father began to work in the hearts of those people that looked at me. I stood at the entrance of the parking lot and watched, prayed and pleaded with my Father to save the souls that looked upon the reminder that he allowed me to carry that day. It seemed that a hundred people wanted me to stop, with dirty looks, hand gestures and sayings such as "Jesus did it so you don't have to."

But God sent 10 people to encourage me to every 1 person that was there to discourage me. He even sent a predominant professor at the universtiy to say "God bless you, Brother". Talk about serving a Lord that has his people every where.

All of the brothers and sisters I knew that stopped to encourage and ask how they could be praying for us all asked what kind of response we wanted. The only response I found worthy was to have people question and to have a beliver be there to share with them the gospel. I wasn't totally sure how that was working untill this morning when I went to work and my co-workers had seen other brothers in Lawrence and Kansas City and I was given an oppurtunity to tell them of a God that carried the cross to his death.

Praise his wounderful name for allowing sinners such as us to take a message as HOLY as HIS to people that need to hear and sometimes just to see. Praise our LORD and KING!
